A suitable solution for every situation
The DC/DC converters of the PWD series are self-commutated current inverters that operate with MOSFET semiconductors and a pulse-width modulated control of the power output stage. They convert a constant input voltage by periodic switching so that a different DC voltage is supplied at the output. For example, the voltage of the on-board grid in German trains is often 24 V but some users require a DC voltage of 110 V for operation.
The converters are protected against overload by an electronic current limit of 100 per cent of the rated output current. The undervoltage and overvoltage shutdown protects the DC voltage source (accumulators, batteries) and the DC/DC converter from impermissible operating states. All input and output voltage combinations are possible. Different power categories can be developed and produced on request.
